ABOUT GALION CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
The Galion City Health Department serves as a hub for STI and HIV Prevention Grant programming from the Ohio Department of Health.
We assure that individuals in the listed counties have access to STI and HIV testing, treatment, and prevention services. This also includes provision of free medication used to treat STIs, condom/barrier distribution, provider education and technical assistance. Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) provide case management for individuals that test positive for HIV and syphilis to promote adequate treatment, partner services, and ultimately, decreased transmission of infection. Additionally, GCHD houses a full service STI clinic.
Ohio is divided up into eleven covered regions and 9 counties make up the area we cover: Ashland, Crawford, Erie, Huron, Knox, Marion, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot.
